The Engineering
Process

00

Concept Consultation

Before drawings exist, we advise on structural feasibility, material choices, and design direction — helping you avoid costly changes later.

01

Project Intake

We review your drawings, architectural plans, and project scope to understand loads, site conditions, and design intent.

02

Structural Analysis

Our engineers perform load calculations, member sizing, and connection design using current building codes and standards.

03

Drawing Production

Stamped structural drawings, details, and specifications are produced for permitting and fabrication.

04

Support to Completion

We respond to RFIs, review submittals, and provide engineering support through construction and inspections.

Engineering You Can
Build On

  • Licensed Professional Engineering

Mission Structure Engineering is led by a California-licensed PE with over 10 years of specialty structure experience — including signage, architectural features, and building envelope systems such as curtain wall, precast concrete, GFRC, metal panel, and glazing.

  • Focused Expertise

Specialized in commercial and industrial structural design — not a generalist firm. We know these project types inside and out.

  • Fast Turnaround

Permit-ready structural drawings delivered on schedule. We understand construction timelines and work to keep yours on track.

  • Collaborative Approach

We work closely with architects, contractors, and fabricators — communicating clearly and responding promptly throughout the project.

  • Code Compliant Designs

All designs are engineered to current CBC (IBC), AISC, ACI, ADM, and applicable local standards — ready for plan check and permit issuance.

  • Exceptional Drawing Quality

We go beyond standard schematic design to offer highly detailed drawings that fabricators can build from directly. For clients who produce their own shop drawings, our level of detail makes that process faster and more accurate — reducing RFIs and keeping your project moving. Working within the DWG environment, we can incorporate existing 3D models or furnish our own as a courtesy, giving your team a richer, more complete model to work from.

Good structural engineering is not just about meeting code — it is about solving the problem elegantly so the architecture can do its job.

Mission Structure Engineering

The Engineer
Behind the Work

I founded Mission Structure Engineering in 2022 with a straightforward philosophy: design for the people who actually build things.

I earned my degree from UC Berkeley and have been licensed as a Professional Engineer in California since 2019. Early in my career I worked on building envelope systems — curtain wall, precast concrete, GFRC, metal panel, and glazing. Starting in 2013, I began focusing on architectural signage and specialty structures, work that has defined my practice ever since.

But what sets my work apart is not just the credentials. It is the hands-on experience. I have built things with my own hands, and I understand the frustration that comes when a designer's vision does not account for the realities of the shop floor — the tools available, the tolerances achievable, the way real fabricators and metalworkers actually work.

That experience shapes every drawing I produce. I design for the builder. Practical, constructable, and detailed enough that the people in the field can execute without guesswork. When I hand off a set of drawings, I want the fabricator to be able to get to work — not spend a week sending RFIs.

If you are an architect, contractor, or fabricator who wants a design engineer that speaks your language, I would like to work with you.
